Introduction The Caribbean island that boasts a different beach for every day of the year, sunny Antigua is a Mecca for all who love the sea – whether relaxing beside it on soft-pink coral sands, or enjoying fabulous watersports

About Antigua

Just 108 miles square, the unpretentious little coral island of Antigua in the Caribbean Leeward Islands has a beach for every mood and moment - from long sweeping sands to romantic little coves. Though scenically less dramatic than its neighbours St Lucia and Grenada, it has a fretted coastline and sheltered anchorages (it was once the Royal Navy’s West Indies headquarters) are reminders that here the sea, sand and watersports dictate the agenda of most who come here - though there’s some fascinating sightseeing in the quaint little capital of St Johns and (especially) the south-east corner of the island, where stunning English Harbour and historic Nelson’s Dockyard are a magnet for the visitor.
