Introduction

Berlin is a stimulating mix of old and new with legendary cultural and historical sights such as the Bradenburg Gate, the Golden Philarmonie and the glass domed Reichstag. And modern attractions such as the Potsdamer Platz and the TV Tower.
Its a shopaholics paradise with rows of designer stores along Friedrichstrasse and Kurfurstendamm and of course the famous KaDeWe - Europes largest department store.

About Berlin

David Bowie called Berlin 'the greatest cultural extravaganza one could imagine' – and he's not wrong. This place is bursting with sights, sounds and style by the bucket load. Walk under the Brandenburg Gate. See Checkpoint Charlie, the old border control point. Or travel back in time at the Berlin cathedral. And if museum's float your boat, this place is home to around 160. You could spend your entire summer holidays checking out the sights alone.

If we're talking nightlife, this place is one of Europe's top party capitals. It may sound like a cliché, but Berlin holidays really do have something for everyone. Lounges for cocktail sippers. Drinking culture for the avant-garde. And, of course, techno clubs for the 24 hour party people.

Like most cities, Berlin's got its fair share of shops. If your summer holidays need to have at least one shopping spree, point your Visa towards Ku'damm. It's home to the swanky KaDeWe department store, which is a tourist attraction in itself. You'll also find malls and departments stores, along with designer stores and boutiques. There's also a flea market that runs through the street of Strasse des 17 Juni, where you can pick up handmade bits and bobs like pots and rugs.

Holidays to Berlin are more than just a few days away. It's an experience. If you want to swap sea and sand for culture and sights, give Berlin a whirl.
