The Costa de la Luz (The Coast of Light) is all too often, sadly, "the forgotten Costa". The irony is, though, that it actually covers most of the requirements that most people ask for when coming to us for holiday enquiries;
It is situated between Gibraltar & the Algarve, and as a result, it's average daily temperature during the summer is anything to match the Costa del Sol or Northern Greece.
Although it has olive fields, fishing harbours & picture-postcard villages, Costa de la Luz also has superb beaches & two large resorts, Islantilla & El Rompido, which have all the facilities you would expect of a major tourist resort anywhere in the world.
Alongside the superb sandy beaches, where you won't have to squash up next to thousands of other people and where you can actually spread out & relax alone, there are hundreds of sandy coves, some frequented in the past by pirates where they kept their booty.
But it's not just the beaches & resorts that make Costa de la Luz so appealing - it's the things to do & see. Donana National Park, Spain's largest National Park, is in the region. Here you can travel by jeep & see some rare & exotic animals, flora & fauna.
JerezIf it's history & culture you prefer, then you are spoilt for choice - Jerez is famously home to sherry, but also has beautiful churches, palaces & the Royal Equestrian School, as well as a Grand Prix track!
Cadiz Cadiz is one of the most famous Spanish cities - it's the most ancient city still standing in western Europe, and achieved its fame when Christopher Columbus & Sir Francis Drake sailed from there. It's also seen many wars, but has beautiful cathedrals, piazzas and architecture, as well as the port & shops to visit. Seville Then, last but not least, is Seville - one of the greatest cities in the whole of Europe. Modern & ancient mix together, with superb shops, sights galore & memories to last a lifetime. To describe Seville is not doing it justice, you need to see & experience it, to get the most out of this fabulous city. Woburn Sands
